A nostalgic piece of anime I love.
"The Big O" is an anime series that blends elements of film noir, mecha, and sci-fi genres into a unique and entertaining package. The series takes place in the fictional city of Paradigm, which is a sort of a futuristic metropolis surrounded by a vast wasteland known as "The Sea of Lost Memory."
The main character of the series is Roger Smith, a suave and sophisticated negotiator who is also the pilot of a giant mecha known as "The Big O." Along with his trusty assistant Dorothy, Roger takes on various cases and battles other mecha pilots in order to protect the city of Paradigm and uncover the mysteries of its past.
One of the strengths of "The Big O" is its blend of different genres and influences. The series has a distinct film noir aesthetic, with dark, moody visuals and a jazz-influenced soundtrack that helps to set the tone. Great game from a great series. Hope to one day get a third in the series and have a conclusion.
The Darkness is based on the indie comics of the same name but you don't have to read the comics prior to playing this game. This game is its own beast and I guarantee you'll have a blast with it. While it does look like a game from 2007 it still plays great, worldbuilding immerses you and the attention to detail in many things is perfect. The sequel does things a bit better but also loses some of the first game's features and charm too.
If you're a fan of FPS games with an interesting story then you'll enjoy The Darkness.

Great books. Great series.
Great deal for two great books, quality is perfect and I was very happy to get started on collecting these books. Highly recommend these books over the anime adaptation but the anime is great too!
