Most Amusing.
Very amusing, great water colour pictures, good gift for a friend with a sick sense of humour.

Not bad....
10 von 10 finden das hilfreich Well I used this for four days whilst walking a section of the Offa's Dyke path. Luckily I had relatively good weather apart from torrential rain on the afternoon of day four and some thunder.
The bivi weighs very little and takes up next to no space in a backpack. It fits into its own stuff sack. It is ridiculously easy to erect, takes minutes. The seven pegs supplied are a little sharp and I managed to bend two slighty by using my walking boot to hammer them in, oops!! Obviously I was not going to add the weight of a mallet to my pack.
Because the length of the thing is a good two metres and I am only five foot six I was able to put my empty pack and most of my gear into the bottom of the bivi, which has the advantage of raising it a few inches. The hooped head end is also quite roomy for gear, the only things I left outside were my muddy walking boots (In a bin bag).
I did not find it claustrophobic, and after walking seventeen miles a day all I wanted to do was sleep. It does suffer with condensation however and my things were a little damp in the morning. The thundershower made water pool at the zipped up sides and my mobile phone suffered water damage, but fortunately it is only a cheap one so it righted itself when it dried out. I recommend putting EVERYTHING into zip lock plastic bags (small items like my ipod, which in no way did I want to get wet) or bin bags (Larger items).
The opening is on the OPPOSITE side to my sleeping bag zip, a minor annoyance.
All in all it's okay, good value, does what it says on the tin. I can't imagine, however that it would be great if there was non stop rain for days, and I wouldn't fancy its chances at keeping one dry in really severe weather.
I walked over the Summer Solstice, but maybe this would not be so good in Winter??

These "Trailblazer" books are really good, informative and interesting, with lots of lovely photographs, but the best thing about them by far are the maps. These maps are hand drawn specifically for walkers, by walkers and are very helpful if one finds oneself straying off the trail. Most of the waymarked paths are clear with the acorn symbol or direction arrows but the maps in these books contain such information as "Lone oak tree" or the individual names of private houses. They have compass point direction arrows and a small scale showing quarter miles so you can estimate how far it is to your next destination. They also include memorial stones, trig points, arched gateways, kissing gates and footbridges. I walk without Ordnance Survey maps but find the "Trailblazer" ones invaluable and much easier to follow.
Very good value for money.
