Excellent value model from Japan

The KATO JR E655 is an excellent recreation of the train used by the current emperor of Japan, and is made to Kato's typically high standard. Featured directional lights and a detailed interior. The bodies cone off easily without needing a degree in construction to work out how to get them off which makes fitting passengers and train crew easy. Extremely free rolling model too. Care must however be taken when handling the model as pantographs are delicate

Dapol Caledonian Sleeper - rest easy, it run well

Nicely boxed for 1, the soft padding inside protects the model from damage during transit, open the box up to extract the coach and you are greeted by a nicely tooled, light weight coach with NEM pocketed kinematic couplings, these can spring loose but getting to them is an easy fix. Each bogie is fitted with a set of contacts which lead inside to a plug to accept Dapol's own LED strip, available in candle yellow, warm white and pure white, and this can be accessed by popping the roof off, (dont worry it clips back with a nice, snug "click") my only fault with Dapol coaches is that the couplings over time do begin to droop, however West Hill Wagon Works do a range of standard, intermediate and close couple gap magnetic couplings but apart from that, its not a bad coach.
