Book is on the old side and was previously written in. Still, I needed an address book of this type.
It's a blank book, so how could the content be compelling? It was a good value. There were a few entries, put there by the previous owner, but nothing that can't be fixed with Wite-Out. I ordered the book because it's almost impossible to find address/phone books these days.

As the series implies, perfect for light, cozy, inoffensive entertainment.
Laura Childs' books are not written very well, nor do her lax copy editors catch and remedy obvious manuscript errors or galley typos: her grammar is appallingly bad (confusing dangling participles appear in just about every paragraph), but I do enjoy truly "cozy" mysteries minus profanity and sex, and Childs' books certainly offer that. Reading her books is like reading a grown-up version of a Nancy Drew mystery. I also appreciate the fact that most of the chapters are rather short. I plan to buy the entire series and thus far have collected nearly all of them. The books aren't "literature," but when I want that type of reading I'll burrow into Hardy, Dostoyefsky or Trollope. Childs' books are light, wholesome entertainment and, like the series implies, perfect to cozy up with, especially if one is in bed with a head cold.
