Ixus 65 - Very Good
I own this camera and the Ixus 70. My overall rating is excellent.
What I like:
The build quality is great, made in Japan, feels like a quality camera
The 3" screen is fantastic, large, clear bright
6MP is plenty
Takes great pictures
Compact, easy to carry anywhere
An eBay price of £50 - £60 in Q1 2010 compares favourably with the new price of current models and I don't want / need more MP
What could be better:
In general, a little more manual control would be good. Ideally I'd like A P and S modes.
Image stabilization would be the icing on the cake
Audio volume on playback of video recordings seems a little low to me compared to the Ixus 70.

Konica Minolta DiMAGE S414 Digital Camera - 7 years on
I think the vintage of this camera is around 2003 at which time it was priced at a few £00, I think. I bought mine via ebay for around £10 in 2010
What I like:
It has a robust aluminium body. Even the plastic card and battery covers / doors feel sturdy.
The manual mode allows a reasonable amount of flexibility including aperture priority (albeit the choice is only either fully open or fully stopped down) exposure setting, exposure bracketing and manual focus.
What I dislike:
The auto focus isn't very good and I mean not very good by the standard of cheaper digital cameras of the same vintage. This seems to be true for both multi-segment and spot AF modes and is a major drawback. It means I'd have to rank it below less sophisticated contemporaries such as the Nikon Coolpix 2100.
Seems to be some barrel distortion in some of the photos I've taken.
Like other cameras of this vintage it drains batteries quickly.
The lens cap is flimsy.
This is a big camera for a point and shoot.
All in all, well worth the £10 I paid for it. It's well made and the manual features are a big plus. Value for this camera is in the £10 - £15 range.
