I would rather go fishing.........

Nudity and vague Tolkien references can not make up for bad writing. If you liked Rome you will be dissapointed with this fluff. You just do not care about the characters as they are shallow and poorly developed. The show has poor production values, and it looks and feels like an episode of Xena. There are no battles shown, and the great armies are just a collection of tents with a few actors milling about. There are a lot of cliched bits sewn into this crazy quilt and you will howl with laughter or derision as you recognize various scenes ripped off from films like Gladiator or Lord of The Rings and Braveheart. This chum bucket even features zombies. Yep. Zombies.. The fact that the show won 2 Emmys is a reflection of the poor quality of television, and not of the quality of this show. Save your money.

Hilarious! Worth it just for "Downs Syndrome Girl"

One of the best sets I've bought so far. Most episodes are hilarious, such as Quagmire's Dad. Great laughs. Worth owning.

Excellent Overview Of Ancient Warfare

This is an excellent series that uses computer graphics and game design to animate several key battles in the ancient world. The host is concise and informative and the battles themselves are exciting to watch. During the programs several different historians and experts add their commentary to help create a program that teaches and entertains. Sadly, there were no other sets available in this series.
