Second Volume from a Comedy Orginal Does Not Disappoint
3 von 3 finden das hilfreich Volume Two contains some lesser known Fields movies, but the viewing will please old Fields fans as well as newcomers to his craft. The five films spotlight Fields through various stages in his career, from 1934's "You're Telling Me" to 1941's "Never Give a Sucker an Even Break". This collection has a little bit of everything, from a hilarious car chase to an exhibition of Fields' amazing juggling skills, done without special effects; AMAZING!! Typically, Fields receives abuse from family, friends, and strangers but manages to do good in the end, akin to an early version of Larry David in "Curb Your Enthusiasm".
The collection is nicely presented in a coloful holder with excellent liner notes and pictures of Fields' movie posters. I look forward to Volume 3, which I hope includes "Mississippi" with Bing Crosby, "Tillie and Gus", and "Six of a Kind". I recommend to anybody who likes vintage comedy.
