Beautifully Tragic

I absolutely adored this prequel, and very much appreciated the fact that you get to know more about Rachel Amber. At only 3 episodes for the main story, I do believe that the game isn't as fleshed out in certain areas as it should be, particularly Chloe and Rachel's budding friendship/relationship. The story itself takes place in the span of a few days, so we're basically only seeing a snippet of the tine they've known each other, which is fine, but I just got left wanting more.
Also, while the writing had been relatively consistent for the first couple of episodes, the finale feels heavily rushed, so I'm not exactly sure what happened there. Overall, I just don't think it reached its full potential.
Despite these shortcomings, I still love the game. The two main leads are adorable, walking balls of teenage angst and drama. And honestly for me, seeing Rachel HERE makes the original LiS all the more depressing and meaningful. The new additions to the supporting cast are a very likeable bunch (except Elliot), so I wish they were able to get more screen time (particularly Steph).
Just a word of warning: people interested in super intense gameplay, this game isn't one of them. In fact, aside from moving the character around here and there and making dialogue choices, there isn't much gameplay at all.
Now, for those folks out there who enjoyed the first game, or just anyone interested in something that's heavily plot-driven, go ahead and snag a copy of Before The Storm. I did it 3 times already (the XBox One version is coming in soon). Don't be dumb like that, but at least go ahead and buy it once.
