Noisy but functional
As photo printers go this is an example of the early stage in Epson photo printing. The machine uses virtual spooling so it slows down when the computer multi-tasks. Cartridges are easy to replace but the cost of originals means you are better off using compatible ones. Print speed is surprisingly fast when printing from easy photo which makes the whole experience very smooth. It uses the same black ink as the 1290 series and these are deep and rich. Software and drivers are available from Epson but you need to update the photo quicker software by searching for an update on the web. Setup and installation is fairly smooth. The machine makes a terrible noise when performing head cleans, rather like a spoon in a waste disposal unit but the test pattern comes out as expected so I guess it works. Takes up to A4; however the addition of a roll of gloss photo paper enables panoramic prints but you can only choose these when printing from non-epson software. This is a home photo printer and not designed for use with photoshop (no icc profiles).
Pros: Cheap, easy to use, good print results, bargain panoramic printer
Cons: Expensive inks, high ink usage, slower than todays photo printers, VERY noisy.
All in all recomended for the home photo printer who wants a little more than 4x6" dye prints. A decent upgrade from the c44 and older stylus photo printers.

Really handy craft item lovely to use
I purchased these for the crafter in the family. At the same time I bought a cheaper awl to compare the quality.
As they arrived together I asked the crafter to try them out. The cheaper awl was made of metal, had two ill fitting inserts which constantly fell out. the tip was very blunt and the whole item was heavy.
In comparison this item was lightweight and fitted perfectly into her small hand. It was sharp and felt solid in use. Most importantly it never came apart. The bone folder was again just as comfortable and has endured months of daily use without detriment.
On the whole, of all the awls on ebay, this is probably the best for people with smaller hands who will use it on a daily basis. It's simply a joy.
The whole kit is great value and well worth buying.

Really solid tools built to last
Having scoured the web for a durable set of trim tools I needed some that were versatile, lightweight, hard wearing and usable. Some positive reviews led me to the powertec trim tools.
I was a little sceptical about their apparent durability but decided to purchase them as the nearest equivalent was twice the price and halfords offering was expensive and didn't have such raving reviews.
The roll they come in is really stiff and you can feel that it will last a long time. Each tool (and their are a lot of them) feel solid in your hand. The plastic ends are hard and yet will fit into all the nooks and crannies of the panels you are removing.
I have used them to; remove radios, dash panels, interior door trim, tyres on my bike and garden tractor and the back of a Nokia phone. All with ease and without damaging the item. The tools look as good as new.
I can't really find a downside, I suppose you could ask for finer tools for very small items but theses are built to last and work on big chunky man-size things, not girlie stuff.
I would not hesitate to recommend them over any other plastic trim tool.
