Not To Be Missed...
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich "A Newer World-- Kit Carson, John C. Fremont and the Claiming of The American West" is a riveting read. Beautifully written, intensely researched, masterfully told. Read Mr. Roberts, "Once They Moved Like The Wind" about the Apaches and their bloody reign-- also excellent. Although, I might disagree with some of Mr. Roberts conclusions based on my own extensive research/knowledge of Carson and his immense legacy, the book remains a fine and muscular effort. Any student of U.S. history and the American West should explore this wonderful read. Truly worth our time in an era of so much political intrigue and Presidential perfidy....

A modern American classic. Must see reading for all students of the Southwest and American/Mexican Borderlands.
Very well written and researched. A rare glimpse into the blood, glory and darkness of of the Sierra Madre Occidental. Should be in everyone's library who maintains any interest in the U.S.?Mexico borderlands....
