Tightwad Steel is a Home Run!
This product is nothing short of a home run (I use the unpainted Steel version). I've been trying to minimize my wallet since I was a teen... it's been 34 years. I've come across some OK solutions, but they were just a little less junk compared to the typical money clip. Wallet-minimizers are all dealing with the same issues on this I'm sure. I suspect the designer of this product has been no different, because the design features of this money clip come from someone that wanted to solve the daily use issues of typical money clips... this design is clearly a result of passion and creativity. Well done!
Details:
1. A minimized wallet needs to add as little to the profile of the wallet as possible. This is where leather wallets fail. I have not found a hybrid wallet that solves this either... if there is leather or plastic, it likely will not be thin enough. Tightwad Steel solves this issue... even paper clips create a larger wallet profile compared to Tightwad Steel!
2. A minimized wallet (money clip or otherwise) needs to hold a reasonable amount of cash/cards that meets daily use needs, but also expands as cash and receipts are added. Tightwad Steel holds my 4 credit/debit cards, two health insurance cards, Driver's License, and a small amount of cash (I mean grow up, do you really need to carry $1,000 in cash everywhere you go?). As a business owner, I also collect an absurd amount of receipts for tax purposes. Tightwad Steel holds it all (I need to clear it out every few days, but I needed to do that with wallets too so it's not like anyone can solve that issue). Please keep in mind, if you're trying to look like a "baller" with 10k in cash, no reasonable wallet solution will hold that for you... get a rubber band and an ego car, and call it good big guy.
3. Last but far from least: every money clip on the market (except Tightwad Steel) has a raised lip to help you get contents in and out. If you face that "lip" toward your body and you sit on it: OUCH! If you face it away from your body, it creates a wear mark that ultimately destroys clothing (and looks bad as a thing pointing out from your pocket). We've all been there... so irritating either way. But finally... after 34 years of looking for this to get solved... Tightwad Steel did it!! Read my lips: No - Raised - Lip
If you are not yet convinced, then by all means keep looking. There is no help for you.
Tightwad Steel for the win!
