Restart, different musically from others.
As information, I love The Newsboys and might tend to be partial when rating them. Compared to some of their other CDs like Stand, God's Not Dead, Born Again, and Adoration, I think Restart falls slightly short of the masterpieces mentioned. I rated this 5 stars for this reason, I think the genre they were trying to capture, they did that well. Drums are great as always along with guitar and bass work as well. Michail Tait's vocals are masterful as usual. Michael is surely a gifted vocalist with a good range and strong voice when needed to enhance the music. I listen to a lot of music and grew up on bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rush, ZZ Top, etc., and one thing that stands apart with The Newsboys, on the 4 CDs I mentioned above, every song from the first to last is a great song, hands down. Most music I have bought over the years I buy for a particular song or two and the rest is mediocre or fill to get the album complete. The Newsboys are just masterful at writing Christian music lyrics, and the band always plays something that just leaves you hearing the last song heard, playing in your mind for hours after. The Newsboys are great at mixing heavy music into their Christian-based lyrics extremely well, and for this reason, they will always be one of my favorite bands. They put on an outstanding live show as well.
