A heartwarming family friendly Pokemon movie.
May & Manaphy's relationship is very loveable and while I always found May as an annoying character when I was little, I think she shines better in this movie as a likeable and female lead. Similarly to the Jirachi movie the main lead is someone other than our main protagonist, Ash Ketchum as he plays as a secondary / supporting role in this film with the main leading character being his female companion, May. May doesnt take too much screen time from Ash though you do get a feel for who the main focus is right away.
