I have positioned mine in the centre of the workspace and now I can get easy access to power in any area with a quick pull of the cable to where it is required and then pull again and it perfectly retracts back out of the way.
No more hunting for extension leads and deciding which is the best path for it to run across the workspace. This should be the first thing that you install when setting up a workshop, its simple, bring the power socket to the job in hand rather than the job in hand to the wall socket.
