1989 Ertl 1/64th scale (standard matchbox car size) Batmobile
ERTL released THREE versions of the batmobile in 1989: This item is the 1/64th scale version which is a the size of a matchbox car. There is also a micro machines version which is the size of your thumb nail and then there is my favorite version which I also bought is ERTL's model #2575, a 1/32nd scale version which is palm sized and very playable. Besides being twice the size and scale, it is identical in detail and styling.
My only gripe about these cars: The glossy black paint is great to look at but I wish they put a duracoat/clear coat over it because it scratches way too easily. Just normal handling in and out of my collector's case has already caused it to scuff up.

Not as pictured
What arrived was a dull (old penny colored) yoda head. What you also don't see is the back of this - its punched meaning its entirely hollow and when you wear this and are walking and this pendant reverses, it looks awful from behind. Also, the chain is not riveted or welded but bent metal links meaning the round rings of the chain are slowly opening up over time because the metal is so thin a gauge that I highly suggest replacing the included chain with a dog tag metal chain ($1.95) from most sites.

All metal construction, finally a quality built die cast vehicle with solid durability for my kids to play with.
