7404 Houseworks square butt Shingles Strip is an excellent product.
For 1/12th Scale this product is proportional for a realistic looking shingle. I have tried the other shapes in this series and this is the one I recommend. The shingles are long enough and have a narrow slit between each shingle to give an authentic installation.
These shingles go on quickly and are made of sturdy enough wood to stay together - while still being easy to shape and cut. They go quite far and cover well.

Model Power does it again. Fit and finish is impeccable! A joy to build!
This kit was so much fun to put together because everything fit just right! The seams went together all the way down. The finish of the plastic stucco was just right. The windows were a perfect size. Yup. This is good.

The sheets could be cut more squarely. I had to recut both horizontal factory edges on every sheet - and even with a paper cutter they are not easy to cut. But they are worth it. I spray them with a fine stone texture paint and then spray flat color. Perfect!
