These boards actually work.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Opposite all the other similar boards I have tried, these actually work and the driver is rock stable. There are 2 minor problems, that can easily be fixed. 1) The electrolytic capacitors are hand soldered and the chinese use any type they find in their drawer, and sometimes one capacitor is missing. The 2 capacitors for the buck converter are rather critical, so replace them with 10μF solid tantalum (it is the ones between the black socket and the metal bracket). 2) There is a track under the metalplate which is not ground, so fit some of isolation between the board and the metal bracket.

Only for non-critical use.
This is a very bad construction, and it can only be used as a base for rebuild or for supply to absolutely non-sensitive load, and I expect the lifetime to be very short.The ripple is skyhigh and many components are not suitable for 36V 5A. Furthermore are the electrolytic capacitors leaning towards the heatsinks and will therefore dry out very quickly. If the item is used for rebuild, many things must be changed. The 400V capacitor is way to small and so is the inductor. Finding a good combination of inductor/capacitors is not easy on this construction and the heatsinks must be moved away from the board. The transformer gets very hot and is probably not suitable for 5A. So the price do not match the poor construction. So to resume, this construction is not suitable as a Dc power supply for electronics and, if used for LED supply, a short lifetime must be expected. Rebuild is possible but not worth it. The price is approximately ½ of what a rather decent 36V 5A supply costs.

Very good tiny smps.
This is actually a very nice construction despite the low price, It works perfect and the ripple is absolutely tolerable. I have always made small buck converters when I needed a negative supply in some equipment, but buck converters are very noisy so this module is a much better solution. The components are well organized and the board layout is ok. Similar supply's are available as 5V 2A and dual output 12V 1A - 5V 1A .It is rather easy to distinguish between these fine build smps's and the poorly constructed ones.
