Great second-hand buy - if you can find a good one.
This was a very expensive compact when launched, packed with features very like an SLR.
Pocket sized nad easy to use. Controls easy to hand and takes cracking shots.

Quality materials.
Tronico models are high quality materials, dare I say it, better than the old Meccano metal kits.
I have built several Tronico models and my experience is that they are probably beyond the capability and dexterity of anyone younger than 14/15.
Issues are minor. Some bolts/nuts are imperfectly threaded and it can take a bit of fiddling to get them to bite. One thing Meccano were better at - instructions - these are sometimes confusing.

Packed with useful info - a must-buy for Lakeland walkers.
Bill Birkett's Complete Lakeland Fells is a must-have book for those who want to construct routes to all the higher fells in the area. However, it is a big heavy tome and could not be used on an actual walk. This little pocket-sized book contains all the same essential data perfect as a walking companion.
Out of print, but available on ebay at usually a fraction of the normal price (7.99)
Serious Lakeland fell-walker? This is a must-buy.
