Well-made, and it didn't have to be assembled from tiny bits, which is always a plus. I wish the light were brighter, though!

THE finest collection of jazz criticism by a truly sensitive writer
Balliett was the model for wise unaffected pointed jazz criticism and arts criticism as well. I've been reading him since the late Sixties: this book was a present for a young scholar whose life it is now changing.
