Interesting item
I use a protective cover for my phone. It has a few raised edges on the back where the metal plate will go. I can trim the plate to fit the grooves. The mounting point where the base gets "glued" to the auto dash surface, best for a REALLY flat area for best adhesion. Sadly my car has a dash with MANY curves. Mounting on top the dash is a really bad viewing angle. Waiting until spring when it's nice & warm to attempt mounting to the inside of the windscreen. Pretty sure that will get it and the unit will be well within looking straight ahead and a glance to the side versus looking down. Overall, a nice product, well made.
