Does the job well enough
For the money it is good enough value wise and quality wise but that is not to say it is a good scope. More it is good enough for the money. You could easily rate it not good value or quality but that is subjective for the money spent.
Basically, it tracks well enough. I was surprised that the turrets could be relied upon but they are fairly good. The windage turret needed some extra grease inside after it really stiffened up but I have seen that kind of thing on expensive scopes.
The eyebox is not hugely fussy but eye relief could be a little longer if using with a heavy recoiling rifle like .308 or above but it is still adequate.
Above 14 x Mag, the image starts to get a touch milky with the eyebox becoming a bit more fussy in terms of eye positioning having to be quite precise. It is ok though on my HMR and does what is required.
The parallax adjustment is quite good. Accurate reading wise and does work well enough. The scope also works pretty good with a digital night vision add on that I use.
Optically it is pretty poor but then it is a coupla hundred quid scope, so its hard to expect too much. It doesn't like bright light and can flare a bit more than an average scope. Likewise at last light, it is poor but then that is comparing to much more expensive scopes I also use.
For a rimfire rifle or for something cheap and cheerful, it will work reliably and throw your bullets where you aim which is the main thing. It will dial and track reliably and the zero stop works fine.
Just hard to get excited about it. It does what it is supposed to without being particularly good.

Nikon AL11 Aculon Rangefinder
Needed something for shooting ranges out to 300yards max. This seeks furthest targets rather than nearer targets (like a golf rangefinder for example) It is almost instantaneous in its response but anything over 400yrds sometimes takes about one or two seconds as it nears its total range ability.
Size and weight is perfect. Easily just sits in my pocket. I don't bother with the protective case and being a hunter, it gets thrown on the grass while sniping bunnies, foxes and deer.
What I do like about it is that for a fair bit of the time, I also use it for spotting. It is only 6 x Mag but that is plenty out to 125yards for rabbits. Half the time I don't bother with binos anymore. The lens works particularly well in bright daylight but starts showing its limitations as the sun starts going down. That 45min period is when proper binos with bigger lenses and better light gathering qualities really take over. Don't get me wrong, this Nikon is not going to replace you binos. Bino lenses are better by miles but it is a worthy substitute if you leave your Binos behind for whatever reason or maybe just want to go on a quick 1 hr bunny bashing recce without added weight of other equipment.
The lenses clean well with a soft microfibre cloth and the increase in cost that you pay for this item over a moody chinese version is deffo the lens quality. Laser rangefinding is relatively cheap and common but the build quality, weight, size and lenses make this the perfect addition to anyone's armoury.
Doesn't really get much use with the .243 but with the .17hmr and especially the .22LR and Air rifle, it really pays to know the exact yardage to the nearest yard. You just miss so little when you now exactly what the range is.
Already this is the piece of equipment that I would replace immediately if I broke it or lost it. It is one of the first things I pick up when I out shooting now.
Also very useful for exact measurement of zero ranges when sighting in new equipment.
Well done Nikon. Top notch product with good enough glass and mag without breaking the bank
