A nature photographer's dream
I am finally getting with the times and switching from a Canon DSLR to a Sony mirrorless. For anyone else making this leap, just know it's got a lot of bells and whistles and the learning curve is steep (at least for a non gearhead like me), but I can already feel it's going to pay off.
- She's light: I generally use a LemurStrap and/or holsters when gallivanting through the woods, and this smaller, lighter body feels a lot less clunky and out of control.
- She's focused: The real time eye AF is beyond my comprehension.
- She's fast äf, boi: I can't even deal with the high frame rate. And coupled with the unbelievable auto focus... Maybe I'll finally get a clear photo of literally anything in motion.
- She's quiet: I prefer the sound of the shutter to confirm I actually took a photo, but being able to turn it off is next level. I'll never scare another critter off again.
- She's flexible: Loving the ability to tilt and touch the screen. My days of laying on the ground to get a shot are over.

Awesome for wildlife
The lens is very nice! So far I am really enjoying it. It’s definitely big and heavy but worth it and nothing a body harness can’t fix. I am about to use it for whale watching for the first time so I’m looking forward to that!
