Affordable Quality
The main thing about these bases is that they are available just about anywhere for any rifle, they are light weight and strong. A little effort needs to be made to attach the ring to the rear mount, but in doing so creates a strong join and is achieved by using the Leupold tool or a strong piece of wood dowel and turning the ring into position (for goodness sake don't use your scope). the front bases screw in as any other mount would and the two side screws give you extra left or right windage adjustment if required. there are better mounts on the market but the price is double or more and these will do the same job. they will handle anything from from a .17 to a .500 (from my own experience) subject only to the availability for the caliber. A little low stick thread compound won't hurt and is a better option than glueing as some people prefer. the AB3 Browning action (as shown) has a similar fit to the standard but the screws are a different size so be careful in choosing.
