Amazing value, great zoom/macro range, sharp, and perfect ergonomics.
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich For everyday shooting, can't beat this little gem. Great value in a small lightweight package. Works great on my D810 with AF. AF is quick and precise. Not a glass to be used for taking pictures in low light settings though I have tried it and can say I am impressed.
For the price I got it for ($60), you really cannot go wrong. Most newer mid range zoom glasses that came out after this were cheap plastics and were also heavier. The 28-70mm is a very handy zoom and macro range, plus has perfect ergonomics, and a real 9-bladed diaphragm.

One of it's kind; phenomenal, amazing!!!
2 von 2 finden das hilfreich The reason I bought this is due to the quality optics by Nikon which I trust, and the 14-24mm focal lens that is a very special purpose that is one of it's kind, and the F/2.8 for the night sky pictures. Originally I was going to get the 16-35mm F/4 which would allow use of filters, but I was just too convinced already that I wanted that extra 2mm focal length, F/2.8 aperture, and due to the low distortions especially.
I actually went to Samy's camera and spent a good time testing the 14-24, 16-35, 20 prime, and 25 prime. None of them showed lines on the edges as straight as the 14-24 did, and none of them were as sharp everywhere especially on the edges as well.
The sharpness and clarity in images created by this beast is unbelievable. You really need to go to your local camera store and test it out on a D810, which I did. It is sharpest at 16mm @ F/2.8 according to DXO score, and it has the highest score of any ultra wide zoom lens. Yes, the lens is heavy but feels and looks like a piece of art. This lens is great for those also that want the F/2.8 for the night sky pictures.
The ONLY drawback to this beauty is not being able to use filters, unless you do not mind spending $ on custom filters that are NOT on the cheap side. I actually ended up buying the WonderPana 66 FreeArc Essentials 0.6SE Kit of this beauty and can't wait to test it out. Don't even think about using this on a DX camera. This beauty is made for FX cameras. Highly recommended!

1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Not only is this glass super sharp (especially when stepped down 2 stops, peak sharpness at F5.6), it also produces some incredible sunstars! This has got to be one of my lightest glass I have. Primes are just my favorite. I combine this with the Nikon 14-24 F/2.8, Rokinon 14mm F2.8, Sigma 35mm F/1.4 Art, Nikon 50mm F/1.4G, and Nikon 85mm F/1.8G for the ultimate setup for landscape. I also highly recommend it to anyone who does not want to spend a huge amount on a nice light traveling prime lens that takes filters and is incredibly sharp.
