Eliots masterpiece?
Romola has never been rated as George Eliots best work due to it's lack of popularity compared with Middlemarch etc. I thought I'd try it as I've decided to read every novel she's written as there's only 8 of them anyway,
I must admit it took me at least 100 pages or more to get into it due to the politics and the geography of Italy involved but I'm glad I did because it's definitely one of the best books I've read. Highly recommended but I could see why it may not appeal to everyone.

Entertaining Sci-Fi
Capricorn One.
Slightly dated now but some great characters especially Elliot Gould who plays his usual self very similar to the part He played in MASH. There is one major flaw in the story but if you are not too scientifically minded you probably wouldn't notice anyway.
Still well worth watching though.

I personally prefer the later version with Sally Hawkins but this is still worth seeing. Good BBC drama which reflects the book by Jane Austen.
