Fantastic feel good musical
I recently watched this on satellite TV and absolutely loved it. The representation of children from a working class background was well conceived. Most parents might want to shield their little darlings from the harsh reality of street language, but they learn worse in school.
The quadruple threat of Mr Braithwaite was unexpected and refreshing, proving a nuanced creative eye had some quality control over the production. The family dynamic with Billy's grandmother showed that, in spite of the rough and tough background, there was love in Billy's care of her.
This isn't Oliver!; it isn't a book that has been dumbed down to achieve acceptance for a larger audience in cinemas. It's a slice of life, taken from the heart of the miner's strike, the repercussions of which still have a knock on effect on towns and villagers where mining was an essential part of the local economy. Yes, it's gritty but that adds to the realism.

High quality pens
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich I've only used Stabilo before, in the context of a previous job, and I have only started colouring in recently. These pens are fabulous with a fine job so get right into those really small nooks. However, they do seem to leak through the page a little, depending on the paper quality. I tend to vary the colouring mediums used depending on what effect I am after. But as you can see, they are probably best kept for those books where there is only one print per page with a blank back.

Gorgeous book with pictures that truly capture the imagination.
Johanna Basford's Enchanted Forest is a stunning colouring book for adults. The pictures are only limited by your own imagination. From animals shaped from collections of leaves, to secluded castles in dark forests, this book is a creative person's fantasy.
