The Unbearable Lightness of a tacky cover
Only giving a 3 star review because I would've preferred the original cover, rather than a poster from that mediocre film adaptation. Kundera's writing has been more intense for me than any psychedelic experience I have ever had and certainly deserves far more than 5 stars. If you want a book that will shake you to your core and contextualize and critique every aspect of your past lives, this is the book for you. Take me for example, this book not only briefly touches on a character's softned gender identity, but it's helped me realize that I am falling for the very woman who recommended me this book.
