Pure Magic!
Benjamin Britten’s “PURCELL COLLECTION” features his arrangements/realizations of 50 songs for high voice collected in one volume. Benjamin Britten and tenor Peter Pears performed Henry Purcell’s songs regularly in their recitals together throughout their concert lives. Britten aimed for “liveliness and drama” in his versions, and utilized the full potential of the modern grand piano (he being “the greatest accompanists I’ve ever heard” as many would attest) in these bespoke realizations. Several would be given concert renditions by Peter Pears (later in life) in his duo with Welsh harpist Osian Ellis — and probably many more could be highly effective in this alternative choice of instrument. As Robert Tear (the great Welsh tenor) wrote of a remark given by Britten during a game of table tennis he and the composer were engaged in during a break at an opera rehearsal — and directly after BB delivered an unreturnable serve — “remember Bob, you can never beat the composer!” Words to live by, and Benjamin Britten realizing Henry Purcell, definitely Win/Win!

Great Product!
This is a great product - providing “core training” to keep one’s hands in shape (beyond the normal muscular requirements experienced by playing an instrument). Also, it’s great to keep in shape during travel and while doing “boring chores” — waiting in the checkout line in the grocery store etc. The only “problem” is once I lend one to a student to try out, they really don’t want to give it back! Hence numerous reorders! Five Stars!
