One of His best!
This is a great CD. For all Gordon Lightfoot fans, this is such a good CD. It is recorded very well and has a few really good lesser known songs on it. The last cut, The Circle is Small is almost a perfect song. The song is a little sad but it is amazing and should have gotten way more airplay. The CD is worth it for that song alone!

Lightweight protection for your system!
I own several of these cases and they work great.They are much lighter than the Roto molded ones, and if you take care of your equipment during load ins, and load outs they will last for years. I have had one with my bass amp in it for over twenty years and it still looks like new.

I grew up playing his songs, as a matter of fact, he basically taught me how to play! The world lost a great singer/songwriter in October of 97.I am pretty dismayed over all of the compilation cds available now. they keep repackageing the same 12 songs, putting a different picture on the cover and rake in more money. its getting very old!
about live at sydney opera house. recorded while he was down under for a series of concerts, and a tv special. I have a bootleg of the tv concert and it should really be released on dvd, because it is JD during his most powerful and prolific time. great backing band, a few new songs, and a super performance. I saw him on the same tour while he was in the states. the cd is slightly abridged but is a very good concert. I have always said that he was the best live performer I have ever seen and heard, and I have played professionally and mixed sound for over thirty years. the eagles are just about as good, but still can't match his enthusiasm. This cd of course has all the hits, performed very well, and is mixed and recorded very well, not quite as good as an evening with JD, but pretty close. annies song is particularly good.calypso is a little more waltz like than the original, and that makes it a little harder to enjoy, I think this tour included his first live performances of that tribute to mr cousteau. If you are a fan, or just want a good live performance to add to you collection, this is a very good one. I am very happy with it, and have already added it to my playlist on my mp3 player! I really do wish that the powers that be would release more live video of John and his music, there has to be lots of it out there somewhere, and it would be a fitting tribute to his life and music to get it out. I am pretty sure it would sell in huge quantities because he was just that good live. I remember him having one or two tv specials a year that were really good including a nice christmas one in a dome in colorado. its time these were released again, instead of the same 12 songs on the latest greatest hits package. buy live at sydney opera house, and enjoy the man and his music.
