Sixth Edition of Technical Communition by P. Anderson
Excellent textbook. It is written in an easy to follow format. Has some fantastic graphics that tie into the material very well. At times, it will seem as though you are having a conversation with the textbook!
The material is presented in a manner that regardless of your manner of learning (interpersonal, intrapersonal, spacial, etc.), you WILL learn the material. Being able to convey the material in such a diverse way without being boring is a big selling point with this text.
Additionally, the textbook links you with online tutorials and examples that enable you to try -- hands-on -- the material that you are studying. Then -- you are walked through the mistakes that are commonly (and rarely) made!
The online quizzes are not always a lot of help when preparing for your instructor's exams -- they have some serious issues so don't take the scores received too seriously. Look at your actual answers and compare them to what the computer states was the correct answer: I found that often they were the same, but had been marked incorrect! The computer seemed to have a unique sense of humor and enjoyed marking everything wrong depending on his "mood" at that moment. Additionally, your instructor will probably use his own Test Bank to format his exams. Hopefully, he will NOT use the one provided by the makers of this textbook.
If your instructor does use the one recommended by this textbook, PLEASE suggest that he grade it manually!!! Otherwise, 80-90% of his class will fail.
After having two fellow communication students "practice" with the online exams, they came to the same conclusions. The computer-generated grades were NOT accurate.
So, to recap: Textbook = fantastic. Online resources = great. Online tests = good practice* But check the answers manually.

Great study Buddy.
Fantastic condition. Most of all, the book has easy to read information that goes along with the Holy Bible. I would recommend it to all who are studying Acts.

CS5 The Missing Manual
This "manual" is very well organized, written, and "timed." By that, I mean that it doesn't waste my time by NOT giving me the information needed to work with CS5.
The author(s) assume that the reader has operated a computer at some point in their life; has the ability to follow moderate directions; and has a desire to operate the systems within CS5.
There are more than sufficient resource and reference materials cited within the text (and indexed at the end of the text) for additional assistance.
