Leviton switch covers
These covers are unbreakable plastic (nylon) and they will last longer than the building they are installed in. Very classy!

Name brand faceplates
Leviton is a good name brand in the electrical industry. These faceplates are the same as I have specified for use in school upgrades, commercial office upgrades, etc. They are nylon and are flexible. They can take a kick by a teenager and not split, break, scuff up, etc. And also, unlike bakelight covers, if you over tighten when you are installing, they will not split.
