Smooth reel for price
Picked up a couple Catana 3000’s to have as backup reels. Very nice and smooth for the price. They aren’t high end or the nicest reels I have ever used, but I didn’t pay high end prices either. If you can afford a hundred dollar reel, get a Daiwa BG or Shimano Nasci.

You can find it in small sizes suitable for ultra light fishing, or get in the 8000 size and catch a tarpon. Smooth reel, smooth drag and comfortable grip. These reels are durable, smooth and should last a lifetime if you take care of them. I was always a Shimano guy but these Daiwa BG reels really surprised me.
