A Lost TV gem
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Only on for one and a half seasons (cancelled allegedly under pressure from the Johnson Administration who cited the show for fostering anti-authoritarian sentiment), The Invaders is the Twilight Zone offshoot that is the clear ancestor of The X-Files. Relying on skillfully written, tension filled plots, fantastic guest stars (Hey - there’s Suzanne Pleschette! There’s Dabney Coleman!) and character development rather than special effects, the show finds it’s groove after establishing the story arc in the first few episodes. Although the Hitchcock plot device of “the man no one believes” is often used, the show’s anchor, the outstanding Roy Thinnes, delivers a performance that generates agonizing empathy for architect David Vincent each episode. The 43 episode series is wonderfully presented in the box set and warrants repeat viewing. A+.
