A stone-cold classic
The original PSP model is a wonderful piece of tech, and while slightly larger and heavier, it is also more robust, and has a larger battery capacity than the later PSP models.

Great, if you can overcome the language barrier
PowerPro 2016 is a great entry in the long-running franchise, presenting a wealth of gameplay modes and options. As someone who is perennially terrible at sports games, I appreciate the many options available to tailor the game's difficulty to your own preferences. The graphics (simple as they might be) are notably improved in this entry, with small touches like reflections in batting helmets adding to the atmosphere and visual pizzazz. The biggest stumbling block here will, of course, be the language barrier: if you don't have at least a basic understanding of Japanese, you will have a hard time navigating menus (and the amount of kanji used for many option menus had even me scratching my head on occasion). However, if you can overcome that, the great gameplay and wealth of features will keep you playing for a long time.

Fun if you can get used to the controls!
Senjou no Kizuna is a great game for any hardcore Gundam fan, but requires a bit of dedication upfront. As a port of an arcade game, the PSP could never replicate the original twin-stick controls, but the adapted control scheme works well once you're used to it. While it's still based around short arcade-like rounds, this is much more simulation than pure arcade action---unlike other Gundam games on PSP like the VS series (Gundam vs. Gundam, Rengou vs. ZAFT, etc.), this is a very methodical game which requires patience and proper timing to succeed. The controls aren't particularly intuitive (the manual provides no help in this regard), but luckily the game has a Mission Mode that provides perfect tutorials for all of the game's mechanics. Even non-Japanese speakers are in luck, because the tutorials show button presses on screen as they walk you through, so it's just a matter of repeating what they demonstrate.
