It took an accidental "Face Plant" to finally break my 18+ yr old 3rd Eye mirror
This is a new replacement for one of my 3rd Eye Mirrors ( in this case the Hardshell mirror) for my Bell V-1 Pro hardshell bicycle helmet. After 20-25 + years of riding with these mirrors I just don't feel safe w/o one.
Best feature of my new purchase is the increased Diameter and the expanded field of view created Versus my previous mirror which probably was purchase approximately 2003 --2005. I like the secure -adjustable mounting positions afforded by the Hardshell mirrors. I also have 3rd Eye mirrors on my foam shell helmets. Just a personal preference that I like the protection afforded by the heavier--hardshell helmets. So I was pleased the product is still available.

Samsung S-7 backing
This is/was probably a good protective backing. As I ordered a Tumi case designed to fit the Samsung Galaxy S-7 phone (this phone design is now possibly 4 maybe 5 years old --as related to current Samsung models) I suspect possibly the age of the product had influenced the ?? rubber or plastic flexible material bonded to the hard backing. This flexible material designed to grab and/or wrap slightly over the face surface of the phone to hold the case back on the phone had become ?? Brittle.
Upon receiving the backing I tried it onto the phone and upon removal of the phone to place a new glass protector --multuple areas of the rubber/plastic material debonded from the hard backing. Effectively losing the ability of the backing to securely grab the phone.
So I suspect the original product has just suffered a "breakdown" of the effective flexibility of that rubber/plastic portion due the the age of these backing protectors. Not a bad product--just hardening and/or oxidation of that material causing the brittleness leading to its failur.
