Uneven album
The first few tracks are painful to listen to. Cohen's voice sounds like it is about to break. I asked myself "How could they possibly allow this to be published?" Then gradually both the songs and Cohen's voice seemed to get much better, and the last 4-5 songs are of "normal" Cohen quality, although not outstanding. His last album "You Want It Darker" is much better, both the songs and Cohen's voice are superior to in "Popular Problems".
