Nancy Pearl - Legendary Librarian. Get her doll!

Since I used to work in a library, I have known about Nancy Pearl for a long time. My favorite NP saying is "Life is too short to read a bad book. If it'd not good in 40 pages, give it up." And the only book I quit was "The Goldfinch" by Donna Tartt. I got about 60 pages into it and said to myself, "I am just not interested in these two guys and their drug problems." However, it stayed on the New York Best Seller list for at least a year. Then I found out who was her mentor (Willie Morris) and I gave it another shot. Turns out it was a great read eventually.

I bought this little beauty due to some sleeping problems with household noise at night. It does a great job and was really easy to learn to use. I say WAS, because I had a house fire earlier this week, and it is probably lost among the items in the debris.I won't know until next week what will be salvageable.
