Saab enthusiast? You need to read this, point blank
I was recommended this book by a fellow Saab enthusiast who said this book was gold. Let me tell you after just finishing it, it is absolutely gold. Easy read, and won't take you more than 2 hours to finish front to back as well. I'll say this, I now feel like I was unintentionally ignorant of SAAB and it's history- and understanding it's history- as an enthusiast myself. A friend of mine recently said, "Yeah, I'm not into the rally thing". Listen, there is no requirement to be "into" rally as a SAABIST, but you must be willing to at least consider the history of the car brand you love and know that without rallying success, Saab simply may not have ever made it. This highly insightful, informative and historical piece of literature has informed me that I am indebted to every driver and Saab engineer who made Saab competitive and put them on the map. We all hear about Carlson...do we know that as much as he contributed he never actually won a Championship? Rolf Melde, Carl Magnus, Don Knowles are some of the names we need to be more familiar with. I could go on and on. But the history of Saab is truly incredible with how much they were able to achieve against the likes of Porches, Fiats, Volkswagens, Alfas, Fords, etc with 2 strokes like 92's and the turbo charged 99. YOU GOTTA BUY THIS BOOK!
