Significantly better quality
I find flicker and strobe effects from LED bulbs very noticeable and distracting. This became quite disturbing when we had installed cheap supermarket own-brand LED spotlight bulbs. I then looked for advice from the higher quallity manufacturers and in this I found Philips' advice most helpful. Their website does have (rather technical) information on visual effects such as flicker and strobing. They recommended their "eye-comfort" range for avoidance of these problems and for good colour rendering.
Their advice is justified. The bulbs are flicker-free and the colour of the light is good.
The greatest difficulty has been finding which of the various Philips bulbs available are in this range. These ones are.
Not the cheapest spotlight bulbs but not much more to pay for much better quality.
