nothing fancy....just what I needed
Small Law Firm. Was choking on loose paper in my Office. Yes, despite the promise of the Paperless Office--there is still kept one paper file ( still scanned) for each Matter.
Bought this item to hold / organize open paper files ( Gasp, yes, PAPER files) so I could access them quickly and clean up my desk / Office. I can now grab a file, find something (as fast as looking it up on my PC--or faster), dictate a memo, note, letter, Tel call, etc --and put the file back. Can also Quick scan file items. Holds 15 medium sized litigation file folders and contents. (Used to see these in Law Review Suites in the 70's-80's--with a stack of books.)
My outgoing "File this/ Scan this" baskets are also on the cart--so going thru mail, e-mail, e-Filings, and so forth --are a breeze. No more 50 odd sticky notes--to "scan this, copy this, fax this", and everything stacked... "Just so" ...on my desk, the floor, etc. The Baskets are grabbed, processed, and returned--with "Processed" documentation -ready to pop in the file. A File goes "Quiet"? --I wheel it around to the Hall and put it back in the cabinets and grab some other active files. Easy to switch out files. Easy to file and Bill.
It's On Wheels, and the shelves are tilted back 15 degrees, and deep enough so the files don't fall forward--so, I can quickly push it out of the way and not stumble on anything. I always seem to have 10-15 files that I need at my fingertips--so this stores them on edge and is fast, convenient, and reliable. Next week, there may be 4-5 other files that need to be nearby.
For the price--it was a steal. I'll Prolly buy another for my Paralegal / Billing Sec'y.
The wheels lock, but I haven't tried those much. It usually doesn't "run away"--so I don't mess with the wheel locks.( actually Metal ! ). Pretty easy assembly. Surprisingly heavy wood used. I have shorter-nap carpets (new) so It rolls perfectly.
I used to have files on the Floor, leaning up against my desk, all over my desk and computer stands, etc. I had a couple of nasty trips over files--my Bad. Cluttered mess...No longer.

tough enough
use it for a variety of things--hauling mostly. Haven't had it in the garden yet. Works well. Sturdy.
