A tremendously effective film.
I screened this film for college students, mostly women, and they were glued to the screen from beginning to end. Those of us brought up on feminism are almost enured to the devastating and silencing effects of the way the media portrays women as objects. Our students live in a universe that up until now, has conveyed the inevitability of media representations and values. This film opened their eyes to the very possibilities of change, as well as ways in which the media has affected them to their very core. They stayed voluntarily to discuss and were deeply changed.
