MY THOUGHT ON Kenwood KDC x991...
okay. ill make this short.
PROS:
at first, i was going to buy Kenwood x993 and 994, but both units didnt come with SRS WOW HD (my main reason for buying it). so i decided to go with the older model from 2007, x991. Stuped Kenwood, what were u thinking?? why did u remove SRS WOW HD from x993 and x994??? Fact: I gave up my Panasonic cq7301u becos it didnt have SRS WOW HD.
the looks, color, and style is very good. it blends with my black dash completely! The sound quality is really good too. i love it!
this unit has lots and lots of features to play with. my favs are SRS WOW HD, upload own wallpapers, motorizd face (3 angles), USB, RDS, scrolling artist/album names, security code, and DTA. Please Yahoo! x991 specs for more info.
CONS:
the major downside for me is that you cannot upload ur own movie clips. Another stuped part from Kenwood. you call this TOP OF THE LINE model?? when it first came out in 2007, the price was $600 and down to $350 in 2008. The remote control is also too big for a car radio. Lastly, DTA (digital time alighment) instruction in the manual is very confusing to understand!! i ended up consulting Eclipse mk7200II users manual instead, just to understand how to use it.
I was goin to give it EXCELLENT rating, but since i cannot upload my own movie clips it gets only GOOD rating.
However, I AM very very happy with Kenwood x991. The last car stereo i will have in my car, unless Kenwood comes up with x991.5 that let u upload ur own movie clips than ill buy it.
since i only paid $175 for it i cannot complain too much. So i will end it here.
