Disappointed

The product reacted when watered exactly as described, and it seems to be keeping slugs from getting onto plants but it has not deterred snails. I had several pots of herbs growing from seed and still found myself having to remove snails by hand (after they manage a good feast on the new shoots) I tried over a couple of weeks by first keeping the pellets wet and then secondly just watering from the bottom so the pellets stayed dry but the snails didn’t seem to be bothered either way. As the description does not say ‘stop’ but only ‘deter’, perhaps I was expecting better results than what was achieved. I guess if it’s just slugs you want to keep off should be ok but for snails I’m going to try the sheep's wool next time.

Good item but note advice!

I purchased this item 2 years ago after which it developed an electrical fault and tripped house fuse. I have replaced the unit with identical due to position of pipe work. In defence of the product I found out that ordinary household bleach was being used to clean the wc which I have found out can be damaging to internal rubber seals/ valves. Up to the time of the fault I would say was an excellent product. Hopefully now using the correct macerator de-scaling cleaner this will remove any future problem - time will tell. Advice on purchase; buy correct toilet cleaner.
