Great product, Pricey but then again its nice to have the same part for a 1983 boat
I took the old one off the 1983 Ebdtide Dyna Trak and there was a number on the bottom side. These are still available and I have one missing so I ordered a pair, Exact replacement from 1983. Installed them this weekend, Perfect fit and was the same model number. Nice product for an older boat.

Great cable, 2 refurbs on johnson trolling motors, Why buy a new one for 1200, or 600 used when I can fix mine for 150 Dollars
This cable will work on 1983 Johnson Scout if you remove the threaded large ferrell that goes on the pedal end, It requires the ferrell on 1988 johnson trolling motor due to changes the factory made. I have purchased two cables so during my refurb of Johnson motors and both have worked fine, YOu will need to purchase 4 feet of 3/4 heat shrink tubing from Jameco and use a heat gun to shrink it after you replace the cable

Great buy, Glad they are still available as a new motor is 600 dollars and our refurb with a new steering cable is only 150 dollars
I bought this because the Johnson trolling motor 1983 I thought was bad, Turned out to be a loose connection in the motor head. After I got that working I clicked through the high, medium, low ranges and noticed a dead motor in the medium range, We use the medium range all the time on my boat so I knew at that point the switch needed to be changed. I have a soldering iron so it was no issue. I had it changed in 15 minutes. Works like a champ and was glad old stock was laying around.
