They weren't lying----the brightest strings you can put on your bass!

When they said these would be the brightest strings you could put on your bass, I was incredulous. However, that wasn't an exaggeration. These strings are crisp, with vibrant harmonics and overtones that cut through wihtout being "tinny." These strings help bring out a piano-like quality that I love on a bass. I expect I'll be ordering more of these for my other basses. Foundations may have just become my go-to brand.

Excellent bass for the money!

I love the look, the feel, the balance, the neck. It is obvious that this is the low-end model of this series, but none of the finishing details are bad.....just some that you know are much better on the higher end models. Examples: Very small finish waves at contour lines, and the truss rod cover is cheap. I like how it sounds. It has a wide tonal range, and is easy to dial in. But, I also think the stock pre-amp is too bass heavy, but I can see how some folks would really like this. All in all, for an inexpensive bass, I would rate this an overall 8/10, with two dings----one for minor finish flaws and a cheap truss rod cover, and one for a pre-amp that is a little too heavy on the low frequency. I went to ESP's website and bought the case that goes with the bass.....the case is worth the $150 for it.
