Quality at a bargain price!
Well made and easy to use. This butane soldering iron/torch has plenty of power, burns steady without the annoying surges some other torches produce. I especially appreciate the extra-large fuel capacity, a real benefit when doing big jobs.
The case is sturdy, and is well thought out. You don't have to wait for the iron to cool down so you can take the tip off to pack it away in the case like many others do. Just slide the protective cover over the hot end, tip and all, and put it in the case.
One warning that applies to any butane torch - use only high purity (highly refined) butane. Cheap butane will clog it up permanently.

High Quality parts
I had to match sets of 8 2N2222 transistors for a project. Testing for Vbe and hFE, I found that 72% of these fell within +/- 1 count match at hFE=283, and 25% matched at hFE=295. Vbe measurements were essentially identical during the test at constant temperature and 10 uA. The remainder of the parts clustered in four small similar groups, except for two outlier parts at hFE=390, and two parts at hFE=50.
No parts were dead or otherwise defective.
This is a quite acceptable result from a sample of 1001 parts.

A lot of O-scope for the money
I've been using oscilloscopes for 50 years - as a technician, then an engineer, and in my own companies. Most have been Tektronix, including storage CRT, benchtop and portable, and multi-channel DSOs. In one company I was a partner in, I selected the Hitachi 20MHZ dual channel scopes for production line testing. Those Hitachi scopes ran trouble-free for years of daily use, and performance was never an issue. Now, I work mostly from home, and my faithful 35-year-old TEK 465 lost it's CRT. Rather than try to find a new CRT, I looked for an inexpensive replacement scope.
This Hitachi V-1065A does what it should, and is easy to use.
Voltage and time calibrations are all within 1% or so by my casual checking. (This on an old scope with no calibration certs)
Vs. the Tek 465, the delayed sweep function is not comfortable to use or easy to set - but that may be more due to my long familiarity with the Tek.
Some cons: All of my Hitachi scopes, including this one, have had a tendency to drift trace rotation over time- but the adjustment control is readily accessible and easy to use.
A little more troublesome for some measurements, is that there is a very slight keystoning effect, with the right-hand side about 1/32" taller than the left at the top and bottom of the grid.
The screen is very bright and sharp - but if you max brightness, there is slight visible retrace on the screen. Likewise, if you turn up the OSD too high, a lot of spurious background lights show up. It's all fine - if you just back off a little on brightness.
Keep in mind, that this oscilloscope was never as expensive as a similar Tek scope - so of course there are compromises - but it is a good instrument.
