Membrane
I have receiced two and found them easy to use and effective, but time will tell. I managed to cut them to size with scissors and used the off-cut for a path.

Don't be fooled that the battery is flat!
When checking the reviews some users had found battery life well below the ten years advertised. Hence after the unit appeared to fail after 3.5 years I ordered another one. Before discarding the old one I refitted it to the old base- 'hay presto' it worked again. I suggest that the instructions highlight that if the battery fails before time the unit is re-tightened firmly on to the base.
