Kurzweil Artis7 - 76-key Stage Piano (Open Box)

Absolute Best Pro Keyboard under $2000.

The Artis 7 is the absolute BEST all around performer's keyboard out there at this price point--maybe even compared to higher priced keyboards. The features are endless: 27lbs for easy transporting (fits in most 61 note keyboard cases too, based on its width!) 100's of factory sounds and setups (mixes, splits, etc) plus tons of parameter adjustments Easy interface with the free Sound Editor program on your computer or iPad, which further extends the ability to create and save just about any sound you are looking for. Uses many of the flagship PC3 sounds and programs including their infamous "KB3" Hammond Organ emulations. Attractive silver case with bright orange-pink side blocks. Easy to connect, set up and use. No better keyboard out there under 2 grand!

Best Powered Speaker Under $500!

I was a bit skeptical that a speaker advertising over "1000 watts" for this price point could be anything but junk. Boy, was I wrong! Alto Trusonic really has done a great job in bringing an entry level priced piece of equipment into the professional level equipment strata. This speaker compares favorably to the big boys from JBL, EV, Mackie and even Yamaha (I've had them all). The only characteristics keeping me from giving this a perfect "5" are: (1) The amplification hardware is proprietary (exclusive to Alto). Consequently if something goes bad in the amp you have to send it to Alto for repair--plus the cost of shipping is on you (as well as the parts and labor after warranty, of course); (2) the speaker's output is a bit vague (not clear and punchy), especially with this 15" model (I've tried the 10 and 12" versions and the 10" seems to cut through the mix better, but you do lose bottom end). At this price point however I really don't think you can beat it--especially not with Behringer, Kustom and other cheap manufacturers.

Best Powered Speaker at this Price Point

You won't find a better valued powered speaker than ALTO. Not quite QSC, but compares favorably to the Chinese stuff from EV and JBL, as well as Mackie. For around $250 you can have their TS212 (or 10, or 15) A series with 1100 max. watts, that will stand up to the $400+ units from the big boys. The ONLY drawback with Alto is they don't use generic parts in their amps, so if something breaks down you'll have to send it back to Alto for repair.
