A worthwhile Strat upgrade.
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Well, does what it says on the tin, so to speak. Very easy and quick to fit on my Mexican HSH Strat. They look great, and add to the attractiveness of the guitar, make string-changing much quicker and easier and my strat has stayed in tune since fitting them, even after a bit of walloping on the whammy-bar. Excellent. They are maybe a tad expensive, but they appear to be very well made, and I don't feel I have been fleeced.

Semi-charmed life
Feel-good, occasionally angst-ridden (but not mawkish or simpering ever), full to the brim with amazing melodies, wonderful guitaring and a lead singer whose voice the music fits like a glove. Bought on the strength of loving the Semi-charmed Life single in '97, and it was a good decision. Jumper, How's It Going To Be, Background and God Of Wine are stand-out tracks for me. A few slightly heavier, grungier numbers which are great. Listen to it - I defy you not to be hooked. It's so good, I want to buy it again. Better at their worst than most others at their best.
Their other two albums (Blue and Out of the Vein) are equally good.

Tomcats Screaming Outside
1 von 1 finden das hilfreich Bought it when it first came out without hesitation because it is by Roland Orzabal - aka Tears for Fears, genius of melodies and lyrics. Definitely a mixed bag of an album - Low Life, Bullets For Brains, Hey Andy and the utterly sublime Snow Drop are stand-out, and make the album worth buying. The rest range from good to ok, nothing hideous except maybe Hypnoculture.
Poppy, trancy and dark in places, with his usual opaque (to a div like me) but emotive lyrics. Good driving music, very good for singing along to but also a good one for those lights-off, lying down Ipod (well, Creative MP3 in my case, but it doesn't have the same ring) occasions. Definitely worth buying for anyone who loves Tears for Fears or pop with a bit of an edge.
