Norpor 5121 Deluxe Cherry Pitter/Stoner with Suction Base

Worth the money

After pitting a bumper crop of cherries by hand, I decided there had to be a quicker and easier way to do the job. I read reviews and decided to give this one a try thinking I wouldn't be out much money if it didn't work well. While it's not perfect, it is a huge time saver over pitting by hand and after using it a few times, I have my system figured out. I use my left hand to guide/feed the cherries and my right hand to hit the plunger. The key is to pull the plunger all the way up to "pop" the cherry off and into your bowl. Occasionally, one doesn't come out into the bowl and you have to pull it out. And yes, it does miss a pit now and then, but we just know when eating anything with our homegrown cherries, one must chew cautiously. I usually feed several cherries through and then look them over quickly for missed pits before transferring them to another bowl. The base is decent and has only came loose once while I was using it. The machine is fairly easy to clean up if you do it immediately and not let things dry on. I'm glad I gave this pitter a try and am happy with it's performance. I can pit a batch a cherries much quicker and with less mess.

Great replacement part

Product worked perfectly (took care of the leak) and was less expensive than buying from my local stores.
